The Bluffs at Riverstone fill an important niche in northwestern Forsyth County

Although there has been a substantial amount of residential construction in the Rural Hall-King-Tobaccoville area during the past year or so, one price point of the market has been missing. For buyers looking for a home in the $250,000 to $299,000 range, options have been limited. However, a new community developed by well-known builder Phil Strupe is attracting a lot of attention, and visitors to The Bluffs at Riverstone are often surprised to find homes with an abundance of custom features at an affordable price.
"We're filling a unique niche," Strupe said. "We saw a need for this price range, and we're offering a lot of features you usually find in higher-end homes."
The homes in the Bluffs at Riverstone include an assortment of styles for a variety of buyers. Many offer main-level living and popular floorplans for buyers with grown children, and others are spacious two-story designs where younger families can spend many years in comfort.
"This is a great community for families of all sizes," said Coldwell Banker Triad, Realtors' Wess Markowitz. "It's an easy commute to Winston-Salem, and you're really close to everything."
"Just in the last five years, this northwest area Rural Hall has grown considerably," said CBTR's Carolyn Hodge, a longtime resident of the area. "This community has a team of independent builders, and I'm very happy to see this caliber of neighborhood in this area. It's hard to find this price range here."
For potential buyers unfamiliar with the northwestern region of Forsyth County, the Bluffs at Riverstone will be a pleasant discovery. About two minutes from Highway 52, the neighborhood is convenient to the restaurants, stores and entertainment venues on University Parkway, but it retains a relaxing country ambiance.
"You're about three minutes away from eating places, PetSmart, Wal-mart and Lowe's," said a homeowner in the Bluffs. "It's no time at all to the hospitals and even downtown."
"We have built two homes — this is our third home, and even though we've had great experiences in the past, it was nothing like working with Phil," the homeowner said. "He did absolutely everything he said he was going to do, and we love this community. It's a wonderful place, and we have great neighbors."
Although located in the town of Tobaccoville, the Bluffs at Riverstone has a Rural Hall mailing address. The surrounding developments are long-established family neighborhoods, and the nearby Long Creek Golf Course and swim club offer easy access to recreation.
"Horizons Park is also close, and it even has a new dog park," said CBTR's Jeff Kintner. "People don't know about it, but it is a great place to go, and residents here are less than 10 miles away."
Along with the convenience of the community's locale, the Bluffs at Riverstone offers homes with granite countertops, hardwood floors and heavy architectural moldings. Exteriors are varied and feature brick and stone, and 15 homes are currently for sale.
"The builder team is quality, and they are offering a quality product," Markowitz said. "We will have 75 homes in the first phase and 25 in the second, so we encourage buyers to come out and see all of the options."
