Blending Past and Present

Arbor Place offers new construction in Buena VistaBy Cindy Hodnett
HomePlace Writer

The graceful hardwoods that line many of the streets in Buena Vista provide welcome shade to countless numbers of runners, walkers and moms with strollers during warm weather months, and the meandering sidewalks in the community function as an urban track of sorts for those interested in a little fresh air along with their physical fitness. The backdrop for the sidewalks is an elegant scene of stately historic homes, many built by nationally-renowned architects, and first-time visitors to the Buena Vista neighborhood often comment on the charming blend of past and present.

Buyers looking for new construction in Buena Vista have been limited to a sporadic offering of infill properties in recent years, but that is changing with the addition of Arbor Place. Convenient to many popular Winston-Salem locations, Arbor Place is part of the well-established Arbor Road region and offers an easy commute to shopping, restaurants and recreation.

"If someone wants to live in town and enjoy all the benefits of new home construction, Arbor Place is clearly the best value," said Leonard Ryden Burr Real Estate's Lynne Bostic. "There is no place else where you can find value, quality and convenience like this in the heart of Winston-Salem. Arbor Place is within walking distance of Reynolda Village, Old Town Club and SECCA, and is only a short drive to downtown and major retail areas."

Taylor Development Group is developing Arbor Place, and AEA Properties and Cambridge Isenhour Homes are building the homes. AEA's Dick Egloff said that buyers can choose an existing home or plan a custom project.

"Our design and construction teams are dedicated to craftsmanship at its finest in Arbor Place," Egloff said. "Although several homes have been constructed, there's still time to have a custom home built."

"Arbor Place represents a worry-free lifestyle with casual, flexible living space for people of all ages," said Cambridge Isenhour's Todd Isenhour. "The homes have easy access with floor plans that feature main-level living spaces and additional areas upstairs for children or guests. We're breaking ground on additional homes right now."

Homes in Arbor Place are energy-efficient and low-maintenance, and features include enclosed terraces, a main-level laundry, luxury kitchens and baths, and ample storage. Prices range from $539,900 to $699,500 and up.

"The homes at Arbor Place offer a distinctive design and a worry-free lifestyle with functional floor plans, irrigation systems, beautiful appointments and lawn maintenance provided by the homeowner's association," said LRB's Wendy Butler. "When you walk into a house at Arbor Place, it immediately feels like home."
