When people see Woodmont for the first time, they are usually impressed by the elegant homes that line the neighborhood's quiet streets. Next, most folks turn their attention to the development's location, marveling at the serene surroundings while mentally calculating the less-than-five-minute drive to the heart of Clemmons. However, as exploration of Woodmont continues, visitors find even more to like about the development, including family-friendly recreational opportunities.
"This is a community with a focus on families and children," said Woodmont developer and builder Steve Frucht. "We spent a lot of time on the design, and we've included over 10 acres of common area spread throughout the neighborhood."
Part of the common area includes a tucked-away playground that Frucht intentionally placed away from the main thoroughfare so families can enjoy relaxed outdoor time. In addition, Frucht said that for a limited time, buyers in Woodmont will receive a membership to the nearby Salem Glen golf course and swimming pool.
"From the entryway of real stone walls with limestone caps to the trees to the playground, everything at Woodmont is upscale," Frucht said. "We also have a lot of trees and walking trails, and we have smaller-size lots integrated in the community for buyers who don't want a big yard."
There are several golf-course lots available in Woodmont, and although the neighborhood is not affiliated with Salem Glen, the picturesque community offers the convenience of being close to its golf course. All Woodmont homeowners are also certain to enjoy the cherry and maple trees that line the main streets, and the natural backdrop complements a variety of architectural styles and an interesting selection of homes.
"We have half-acre, full-acre and 2-acre lots," said Prudential Carolinas Realty's Paige Dillon. "And the quarter-acre lots are an answer to buyers who are looking for minimal yard upkeep, but are not interested in an actual cluster-home development."
Several spec homes have recently been completed in Woodmont. Lot 12 features four bedrooms, three full and one half baths, and a finished basement with a playroom, bedroom, office and bath. The home lists for $399,900 and has more than 2,800 square feet.
At 4923 Britton Gardens Road, residents will enjoy one-level living with a full basement for walk-in storage or expansion. This home has three bedrooms and 2.1 baths and is ideal for empty nesters who don't want to sacrifice luxury. It lists for $399,900.
At Lot 51, visitors find hardwood floors on the main level, a bonus room and basement playroom, and a huge master suite. Four bedrooms provide plenty of space for couples with kids, and a main-level library offers quiet space for work or study. Listed for $499,900, this home has more than 3,400 square feet.
Another one-level home in Woodmont has soaring ceilings on the main level and a large kitchen that opens to the breakfast area and keeping room. The master suite is separated from the other three bedrooms, and a fourth bedroom / bonus room on the upper level has its own closet and bath. This property lists for $429,900.
One of the largest homes in Woodmont has more than 5,500 square feet, four bedrooms, and four full and one half baths. The wooded lot of this property backs up to the playground, effectively extending the outdoor living space. A bonus room and playroom allow for indoor recreation. This comfortable home is listed for $749,000.
"Retired folks, empty nesters, families with children of all ages — Woodmont residents can walk on neighborhood streets because there is not cut-through traffic, or they can walk through the woods and common areas where trails have been cut," Dillon said. "And the Forsyth County location is a big plus for families interested in highly sought-after Clemmons schools."
